1000 ways to not die (a lifestyle series) ep.2
I’ve always been someone who thinks about life and its ups and downs
I’ve always have the feeling of dying just to see how it feels
But unfortunately no one wakes up to say
, “Today feels like a good day to die.”
We make plans.
We scroll our phones.
We rush out the door.
We postpone the things that matter.
We say perhaps there’s time for tomorrow
Of a truth there isn’t anytime to waste, we don’t give the time some time
It’s give us and we manage it
Not in a scary, dark way—but in a real, honest way.
Because the truth is… most people don’t just die on their death day
They die slowly.
In pieces.
In silence.
Long before their actual last breath.
You don’t die the day your heart stops.
You die the day you stop feeling.
The day you ignore that thing inside you that says,
“Try again
“Speak up
“Leave
“Start
“Continue
You’re almost there
And you silence it with fear.
That’s one way to die.
You die when you live a life that isn’t yours.
When you choose a path just to please people who won’t even remember your sacrifice.
I remember when I lived 2years of my life trying to please my in-laws that where never pleased no matter how hard I try
When you shrink yourself to fit into spaces you’ve already outgrown.
When you say “yes” but your soul is screaming “no.”
That’s another way.
You die when you stop loving out loud.
Holding back “I love you” because you’re scared it won’t be returned.
Watching people walk away without telling them how much they mattered.
Thinking there’s always time to fix things later.
There isn’t always time.
You die in the small moments you ignore.
That laugh you didn’t share.
That call you didn’t make.
That apology you didn’t give.
That dream you didn’t chase.
Life isn’t made of big moments.
It’s made of tiny ones—
and every ignored moment is a quiet goodbye.
You die when you become comfortable with being unhappy.
When “I’m just managing” becomes your daily anthem.
When you settle—not because it’s enough,
but because you’re too tired to want more.
When you convince yourself that this…
this right here… is all life has to offer.
It’s not.
So how do you not die on your death day?
You live before it arrives.
You speak even when your voice shakes.
You love even when it’s risky.
You try even when you might fail.
You forgive.
You rest.
You begin again.
You stop waiting for a perfect moment that doesn’t exist.
You won’t get 1000 warnings.
Life doesn’t send reminders like:
“Hey… you’re running out of time. Fix your life!!
Because when your final day eventually comes…
It shouldn’t feel like the day you finally died.
It should feel like the day
a life fully lived
came to a gentle end.
